Wedding ceremonies often have a Master of Ceremonies (MC) in order to ensure the day runs smoothly. This role is often carried out by the best man or another guest but increasingly, celebrants are being asked to officiate the wedding and act as Master of Ceremonies. This creates a nice flow throughout the day with guests becoming familiar with your MC and this helps to keep everything in order.
An MC will gather everyone together for the photographs, announce that dinner is served, welcome the bride & groom, announce the different speeches, announce the cutting of the cake and announce the first dance.
The MC will keep everything running to time and should be confident enough to step in if someone should forget their speech!
